Do pre-insulated sleeves support the current that the cable can handle? Is it a good connection option?

These questions were answered by professional electrician Leônidas Borges in his Instagram video, which you can watch below:

In the video, Borges conducted a real-time demonstration to see if the sleeve could handle the entire load. He connected the ammeter to monitor the current passing through the conductor. The test started with 81 amperes running through the conductor. A few seconds later, the cable began to overheat due to the heavy load.

While the cable quickly deteriorated, the sleeve remained intact, with no signs of breakage. The test ended with an average of 80 amperes. As a result, the cable couldn’t withstand the overheating, while the sleeve remained undamaged and with its perfect insulation intact.

Even in the case of an overload, the conductor might have issues, but you won’t experience any problems with the connection or the sleeve’s insulation, provided that it’s a high-quality sleeve like those from Crimper. Our products are developed with top-notch materials, ensuring the highest standard of quality. They are highly reliable and efficient, operating without energy loss, which leads to cost reduction and increased profitability.
